Meet Darlene

Hi, I’m Darlene—a retired helper, lifelong learner, and community listener. I recently chose Chase, BC as my  semi-retirement home, seeking a slower pace and deeper connection. This blog is a new and perhaps slightly intimidating venture for me, but it’s also my vulnerable, meaningful space to reflect on my journey—from years of people-pleasing in search of worthiness, to now offering support from a place of purpose and heartfelt connection.

Whether I’m writing about healing, sharing stories from my community, or reflecting on the quiet lessons of everyday life, this blog is a place where I hope others feel seen, supported, and gently inspired. I believe in words as well as service that uplifts both the giver and the receiver—and in storytelling as a way to reclaim our worth, honor our loved ones, and connect with something deeper.

You’ll find reflections on self-discovery, tributes to those who’ve shaped me, and glimpses into the small acts of kindness that make a life meaningful. I’m learning as I go, and I welcome you to walk alongside me.

Thank you for being here—your presence is part of the heartwork.

Me and my flowers nicely settled in just in time for Fall!

May these words be a gentle nudge - for me for you -
to celebrate who we are becoming
