Such a beautiful time of year, such a beautiful time in my life! I am so excited to be me, and I get to be right here, sharing with you all just exactly how—and even why—I got to be here and what is coming up. Here, meaning the stage of life I’m at, and also here in this beautiful little town of Chase, BC, where I’m so excited to be!
This is where I’ve been able to reflect on what change looks like for me, and ask: “What would it look like to live more fully, more kindly, more intentionally?”
Just over a year ago, my boss said she was looking for someone to fill a position in Chase. I lived and worked in Kamloops at the time, but it got me thinking. The position was for reduced hours from what I was currently working. This appealed to me, because I had already been thinking of decreasing my work hours, but also I have always loved small town living. I applied for the position—and here I am.
I have enjoyed my summer more than I could ever have imagined! I feel at peace. I feel at home. It brought me back to when I was a child and even a young adult—when I would feel most comfortable living in a small-town atmosphere. That is actually where I feel my best. However, I must admit that Chase has that special feel to it! I mean, how could it not—with not only the river but also the beach so accessible?
How about Music by the Lake! This little town puts many larger cities to shame with what they offer for that special evening out. I have been so impressed—and also so blessed—to be a part of this lovely scene that Chase should be so proud of. Everywhere I go I feel welcomed! I must say that this whole atmosphere has inspired me. I truly feel that I am exactly where I am supposed to be. I am ready to call this my forever home, and I am ready to make it what I have always wanted my forever home to look like.
What’s next, you ask? Let me share. As the long, quiet winter months approach, I’ve realized I’m ready—and eager—for more. While I’ve enjoyed the slower pace, simply sitting at home watching TV doesn’t quite fill my cup. I’m looking to stay engaged, connected, and purposeful. There’s still so much I’m capable of doing, and I’m excited to offer my time, care, and experience to those who could use a helping hand.
For over 30 years, caring for others has been at the center of my life. Though I’ve chosen to slow down a little, I’m still very much capable—and deeply committed—to offering help where it’s needed most.
Whether you're housebound, overwhelmed, or simply in need of a kind hand, I’m here.
Here’s what I can offer:
๐ก Housesitting and home check-ins
๐ Grocery shopping and mail pickup/drop-off
๐ Prescription pickups and errands
๐ฒ Help preparing home-cooked meals
๐งบ Laundry assistance and fresh linens
๐ค Companionship (I play a mean game of crib!)
I’ve spent many years in the healthcare field, and I understand both the need for support—and the courage it takes to ask for it. I’ve been there too.
If there’s something you need that I haven’t mentioned, let’s talk. I’m open, flexible, and ready to listen.
Let’s make it happen—together.
So stay tuned—there’s more to come. I’ll be sharing details soon, and if you have any questions or ideas, I’d love to hear from you.
Until next time, “Here’s to living gently, giving freely, and finding joy in the little things that make a big difference.”
